What properties of elements are used to organize them on the Periodic Table?  How can we use the table to gain more information about a given element?  These were some of the guiding questions that framed today’s discussion on periodic table trends.  Students recorded notes and sketched the periodic table trends from the Periodic Table Trends slides.  At the end of the hour, we discussed how this will all come together in an assignment tomorrow.

Tomorrow students will tackle the Periodic Table Trends Activity.  With a relatively sparse white copy of the periodic table will come alive with color representing various groups, families, and periods, as well as differentiating between solids, liquids and gasses.  This assignment is due on Thursday.

Schedule for this week:

• Tuesday:  Work time on PT Trends; Venn Diagram DUE
• Wednesday:  Review for test in class and after school (3:15-4:00pm)
• Thursday:  CHEMISTRY TEST
