After a brief discussion of yesterday’s video clip and the assigned essay (see yesterday’s entry for more information; Also check out the “M is for Mass” portion of the NOVA website), we discussed how to construct a timeline of chronologically-ordered events. Students then began constructing a timeline representing the 13 important events that occurred in the history of the development of the periodic table. For details on the assignment as well as the other homework, read on.

The periodic table timeline should be creative and incorporate all 13 events we discussed on Thursday. It should also include at least 5 color images that are original to you. Go back to the entry from last week (Day 35: The Periodic Table) to read more about the history of the periodic table. Also, check out the Periodic Table Timeline Rubric for all the details.

Homework: 1. Study for tomorrow’s quiz over the periodic table, 2. Complete your essay on Lavoisier (due tomorrow in class), 3. Work on the periodic table timeline (due Friday).
